Family Reunification

Family Reunification is also a major component of our program as working with families has always been a very important part of our mission. Each family has always been encouraged to become involved in their child’s treatment plan, but when Generations acquired the property across from the Horizons’ Campus in 1997 for the Bridges campus construction, it came with an older home. With this, doors were opened for the possibility to enhance our Family Reunification component. Thanks to a grant from the Duke Endowment, and through tremendous volunteered man-hours donated by the employees of Michelin North America, we were able to completely renovate the house for family visits.

The Duke Endowment grant also enabled us to dedicate a clinician to work with uniting our boys and their families. Working with a family during their child’s stay at GGH has far reaching success when the resident returns to his home community. Then adding our Aftercare Program, in which we give the former resident and his family additional support, we see long-term efforts of our graduates to carry out our mission to stop and prevent sexual abuse.
